Dramatic ocean paintings by N.H. artist Ted Johnson on display at Biddeford Campus Center

An exhibition of paintings by New Hampshire artist Ted Johnson is now on display at the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½νβs Biddeford Campus Center now through July 5.
Johnson creates ocean experiences with minimalist techniques. The pieces, selected from the artistβs βWAVESβ series, showcase a strong a sense of vulnerability to the oceanβs raw force using a black canvas and contrasting colors of oil paint.
Such simple techniques offer dramatic effects in his works βIntense Sail,β βNight Sea,β and βRocky Shore.β Johnsonβs ultimate goal is to create complexity from simplistic forms of painting. Capturing motion with subtleties that differ with each subject are what attracts him to the medium.
βWAVESβ is free and open to the public. Masks are optional indoors for visitors to 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½νβs campuses. The Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Summer hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays noon to 6 p.m.
