An exhibition of artwork, titled β€œAppreciating the Ordinary,” by Yarmouth artist Polly Smith will be on display at the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν’s Biddeford Campus Center from December 9 to January 31. An artist’s reception will be held on December 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The exhibition is the culmination of almost a decade of Smith’s work in watercolors. She paints β€œen plein air” as well as from photos.

Smith says that she seeks to capture everyday life in her paintings. β€œI want others to stop and appreciate the daily joys and beauty right around us, in a vase of dried flowers or in scenes out a kitchen window,” she stated.

Smith is a partner of the Stable Gallery in Damariscotta and paints regularly with the Community House Artists in Yarmouth. She is also a member of Maine Made Products. Her work has been selected into juried shows, including Yarmouth Art Festival (2013-19), Brunswick Sidewalk Art Show (2015), Portland Art Show (2014-15), South Portland’s Art in the Park (2018-19), Freeport’s Art Festival (2016-19), and Maine College of Art’s Create III & Create IV (2014-15).

Her work may be viewed at .
