β€˜University World News’ interviews Anouar Majid about U.S. travel ban on Muslim-majority nations

According to Anouar Majid, Ph.D., 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν vice president of Global Affairs and Communications, President Donald Trump’s travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries will have a greater impact on students from those countries than it will on American universities.

Majid was quoted in an article in University World News titled, β€œUS travel ban – No winners in academia.” Several higher education experts, including Majid, were interviewed about the potential impacts of Trumps’ executive order on global perceptions of the U.S., global competitiveness, and students hoping to study in the U.S.

Majid said the ban would prevent African students from Libya, Somalia and Sudan experiencing the American way of life and the benefits of an American education. He also stated, β€œThe impact of this executive order will have a very limited impact, if any at all, on American universities because the US already welcomes students from around the world."
β€œWith reference to African states, the absence of Somali, Sudanese or Libyan students on a campus will not be noticeable,” he added.
