911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Football focus of story in βPortland Press Heraldβ

The Portland Press Herald published an in-depth story on January 29, 2017 about the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν gearing up for its first season of football. The newspaper interviewed 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν football coach Mike Lichten, who is working tirelessly to prepare for the Norβeastersβ first football season, as well as 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Vice President of Student Engagement and Director of Athletics Jack McDonald and prospective players.
Lichten has recruited 18 prospective players for the team and continues to work to build his coaching staff and recruit more players. In the article, he discussed the message he gives prospective players about 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν as he travels the country meeting them face-to-face. βItβs a unique opportunity, thatβs for sure,β Lichten said. βThis is an unbelievable place to go to college. This is a place thatβs going to shape you and promote your growth as an individual in a way that most places cannot do.β
βFootball is more than a game,β McDonald said. βItβs very traditional. Itβs a weekly reunion on a Saturday afternoon. Itβs alumni gatherings. Itβs student spirit. Weβll certainly roll into tailgating and Friday night rallies and all of that excitement.β
