911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Social Work students featured on β€˜WCSH 6’ for program with jail inmates

A collaborative program with the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν and the Cumberland County Jail was highlighted in an August 12, 2015 story on WCSH 6 and WLBZ 2. β€œCrime and Communities” is a 12-week course where CCJ inmates and 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Master of Social Work students take a class together taught by Kerry Dunn, Ph.D., J.D., assistant professor in the School of Social Work.

Incarcerated students and 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν students were featured in the story, explaining what they learned from the course. "It was something that was very distant and foreign to me,” said Abigail Chance, MSW ’15. β€œSo it kind of broke down that barrier and I saw I can work with a variety of people, all walks of life.”
