911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Social Work students featured on βWCSH 6β for program with jail inmates
A collaborative program with the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν and the Cumberland County Jail was highlighted in an August 12, 2015 story on WCSH 6 and WLBZ 2. βCrime and Communitiesβ is a 12-week course where CCJ inmates and 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν Master of Social Work students take a class together taught by Kerry Dunn, Ph.D., J.D., assistant professor in the School of Social Work.
Incarcerated students and 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν students were featured in the story, explaining what they learned from the course. "It was something that was very distant and foreign to me,β said Abigail Chance, MSW β15. βSo it kind of broke down that barrier and I saw I can work with a variety of people, all walks of life.β
