Ed Bilsky and Amanda Braithwaite publish in βBioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Lettersβ
Two members of the Bilsky laboratory are co-authors on a recent article published in Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters. The paper, titled β6_-N-Heterocyclic substituted naltrexamine derivative NAP as a potential lead to develop peripheral mu opioid receptor selective antagonistsβ investigated novel neutral antagonists, NAP and NAQ, for the treatment of unwanted GI side effects that are associated with chronic opioid exposure.
The team that carried out the project included Edward Bilsky, Ph.D., associate provost for research and scholarship and professor of biomedical sciences in COM, along with current CAS senior, Amanda Braithwaite (β13). The work was done in collaboration with colleagues at Virginia Commonwealth University.
